Wills/Estate Planning – Trusts – Probate
Any person, who has a dollar or more than he does not have planned to spend, has an estate. The preservation of assets and appropriate transfer of property upon death is a matter of great importance to our clients. We see this area of the law as part of a broad, long-term effort to assist our clients with their personal financial planning.
An estate planner uses a variety of “tools,” Trusts are advisable in implementing a client’s wishes. We deal with the powers of attorney, documents relating to health care and living wills. Upon death, the transfer of assets is generally supervised by our Probate Courts. Some of our clients need only limited assistance, but others wish us to handle all aspects of the probate process.
In 2011 we will see a major reorganization of the Probate system in Connecticut. We look forward to serving our clients under this new, regionalized system.
