Elder Law Attorneys in CT

Elder law is a newly-recognized practice area for Connecticut (CT) lawyers. In part, it includes knowledge of the rules of real estate, estate planning, taxation, and other traditional aspects of the law in CT. It also incorporates an understanding of current governmental issues such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security law. These regulations are complex and can change rapidly.

A client does not have to be of a particularly advanced age to benefit from an understanding of elder law issues. It may be statistically more common for an older person to suffer from failing health or a disability, but these issues are hardly limited to those we ordinarily consider elderly. In a more general sense, the principles of elder law apply to any individual whose financial or personal affairs are limited by health issues.

Our role as your elder law attorney includes planning for concerns of this type in advance of a problem. We also deal with issues of limited capacity, or incapacity, when they do occur. For many of us, it is difficult to address the problems of growing older, or to address the concerns faced by our elderly parent. Still, we understand that every one of us will need to address these concerns. Our efforts in the area of elder law are intended to ease those burdens.

We are a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, the country’s largest group of lawyers practicing in the area of elder law.
